Passenger Injured In Rockford Street Collision
A 1962 Chevrolet passenger was slightly injured when her car entered the path of an approaching vehicle on Rockford Street near Haymore Street. Phillip Dale Welch, 16, drove the Chevrol et. Thomas Roby Martin, 40, was southbound. Linda Ann Welch was hospitalized at Northern Surry Hospital with shoulder pain. No charges were filed.

College Day At East Surry Draws County Juniors
About 650 to 700 juniors and seniors from five county high schools attended College Day at East Surry High School to meet 40 college, trade school, and business school reps. Father And Son Injured In Dobson Incident
William Monroe Snow and his son Delmer Snow of route 1 Dobson were injured Tuesday evening after a dispute. Delmer fled the jailhouse yelling that his father was dying before officers recaptured him. William Snow remained in Baptist Hospital Winston-Salem with a fractured skull alleged to be from a pistol blow. Authorities, including Chief Marion and Deputy Gillespie, pursue charges as they investigate the fracas and determine who inflicted the wounds.

Three Men Join Army Reserve Local Unit

Blood Unit Fails To Hit Quota In County Visit
During a two day Red Cross blood mobile visit the unit fell short of its 250 pint quota with Pilot Mountain collecting 108 pints of 125 and Dobson gathering 50 pints toward 125. Several first time donors joined volunteers and staff earning gold and one gallon pins while Dobson earned a plaque for donor recruitment.
