Mr. A H Merritt died at his North Main Street home after a week with a cold that turned to pneumonia. He attended church Sunday before his death. funeral at Central Methodist with Masonic burial rites and large attendance. He served as State Senator, State Superintendent, and University Trustee and was a respected educator and citizen.
