In College Park Maryland on November 3 government aviation set endurance marks. Lieutenants Humphreys and Foulois stayed aloft for 89 minutes with a two man flight nearly matching the longest Wright brothers record. Navy Lt Commander Sweet rode as passenger with extra weight. Lahm remained airborne 8 minutes 34 seconds with Sweet aboard. Wilbur Wright prepared to return to instruct his workers.
