Mrs Helen Augusta Meyer Oliver, 59, of 218 N Park Ave, wife of Dr Otis Oliver, died Friday at Forsyth Memorial Hospital Winston-Salem. Graveside services were held Sunday at Oakdale Cemetery. Born in Richmond, VA, she was the daughter of George F E Meyer and Helen Martin Meyer. Surviving: daughter Mrs Lennie Rosenbluth of Miami, two sons Otis M Oliver and George E Oliver of Mount Airy, sister Mrs John Woody of Richmond, VA, and brothers G E Meyer of Richmond and S A Meyer of Bethesda, Md.

Two Cars Collide On Renfro Street Damages Estimated
Police report says Leonard D Roberts Jr waited in a 1073 Dodge on Renfro Street in traffic near the Reeves YMCA. Deborah J Lankford 16 of Route 1 Mount Airy in a 1971 Pontiac struck the Dodge from the rear after glancing away. She was charged with following too closely.

Pilot Mountain Rescue Parade Weekend Activities
Pilot Mountain Rescue Squad sponsors an eighth annual parade and gospel singing weekend. The downtown parade starts Saturday at 3 p m and winds from the eastern town end along Main Street to East Surry High School. A fish supper follows at 7 p m in the East Surry cafeteria, then a gospel program in the gymnasium featuring the Messengers Quartet Mount Airy the Tuttle Family Kernersville and the Carolinians Albemarle. Door prizes include a tire set stereo tape car shocks and a tape player with speaker.
