Criminal Court At Dobson Next Week
Dobson will host a special two week term of criminal court beginning Monday to hear a large docket. Judge A L Quickel of Lincolnton will preside in his first term, appointed to fill the late Judge Webb’s term. A jury was drawn with members from Mount Airy, Dobson, Pilot Mountain, Elkin, Round Peak, State Road, Rusk and surrounding areas.

W. H. Chandler the Democratic registrar of Marsh township was stabbed in the back during a corn shucking in Crutchfield. He is in Martin Hospital with a possible left lung injury and may not survive. John Walls, who attacked him, turned himself in at Dobson jail Saturday night and is detained for trial.

Eighty families received provisions and fuel, six medical aid, one TB patient transported to Forsyth County Sanatorium, all cases deemed worthy after investigation. A fatal barn fire claimed Donald Dobson, four and a half, at his home on Spring and Wilson streets.
