Mrs Katherine Polger of Mount Airy died last Saturday afternoon at Martin Memorial Hospital after a months long illness. Born September 17 1909 she was a bank teller at First National Bank and wife of Henry Folger attorney and former postmaster. She is survived by her mother twin brothers sisters and other relatives with funeral at her mother’s home followed by burial in Oakdale Cemetery.

In Surry County three men were seized by Game Warden William White and Stokes County Protector George Barr while riding along a road at season end using a flashlight to search for deer. They faced bonds totaling 300 dollars each, with the car held on 1700 dollars. An injured deer was found near the hunting site on Reynolds farm.
