Greensboro police officer W Thomas McCuiston was killed while attempting to halt a suspected whiskey running car on East Washington Street. A chase across Roaming Hills and Battle Ground ended with the death of driver Tom Robertson of Spray and the capture of Lewis Edwards, who claimed kin to a Danville officer.
