A Prologue style tale recounts Nancy fleeing a Kiowa chase and Santanta scouts. The narrator describes a brutal escape with pistol blasts and a daring sprint to Bent's Fort where Colonel Bent assists and later returns Nancy to Santa Fe.
Warning against ointments for catarrh containing mercury and their harm to smell and the body. Promotes Hall's Catarrh Cure by F J Cheney & Co Toledo Ohio as a safe internal remedy with no mercury and encourages purchasing genuine product and testimonials from Druggists.
A garbled notice mentions Mr Alvin Stimpson of Connecticut and a medical claim about a remedy for kidney trouble. It asserts recovery and current health, describing a cure as complete and free from suffering.
T M Angle president of the Dry Fork Distilling Company was found guilty in a federal court in Dariville Virginia of extensive revenue frauds. The jury deliberated about an hour before the verdict. Angle received a four year sentence and a $15000 fine with bail set at twenty thousand dollars. He faces additional state charges in North Carolina. other Dry Fork officers and officials remain under continued cases.
The Putnam Organs are described as second to none with improvements over the past year raising them to the highest grade. The ad highlights strong cases, handsome designs, kiln dried lumber, screw and dowel construction, gloss finish, and a superior bellows made of three ply veneer stock with rubber cloth and leather. It notes cherry tracker pin guides, polished graphite, and that W. W. Putnam & Co. both own tuners with firm oversight, with instruments personally inspected before leaving the factory.
