The National Red Cross seeks emergency funds due to depleted national reserves from disaster relief and increased Vietnam service. Surry County chapters were asked for 1377 dollars, with Mount Airy United Fund contributing 859.80 from its contingency fund. Treasurer Lacy Vernon delivered the check to Chapter Chairman Dwight.
The Surry Community College board approved local funds of 82,800 for current operations and 5,429 for capital outlay, plus 328,841 state funds for operations, totaling 381,681 for 1966-67.
