The Government helium plant at Fort Worth Texas maintains 317 degrees Fahrenheit below zero to liquefy natural gas and extract helium. A touch would freeze skin instantly, and even a pencil would scatter into tiny pieces. Helium production now costs six cents per cabin foot, stored in shell like drums for Navy Department shipments.
