The Mount Airy North Carolina Board of Commissioners invites bids for two bond issues in 1 000 denominations. The sale closes at 1 p m on a stated date. Bonds include 60 000 Sewer System bonds maturing 1922 1986 and 40 000 Funding Bonds maturing 1925 1960. Interest 5 1 2 percent semiannually. Purchasers must accompany bids with 2 000 certified check. Right to reject bids reserved.
Wake Forest College faces no immediate plans to spend the 1 250 000 endowment from the late Jabez A. Bostwick while final court approval awaits. The board discussed secret fraternities as the eighty seventh commencement begins.
E W Beatty president of the Canadian Pacific Railway tells a Commons committee that the 1897 Crow's Nest Pass agreement should not return. The pact set minimum eastward grain and westward bound product rates in exchange for a federal subsidy and would auto resume July 7 if no action is taken.
Mrs J T Atley of Box 448 Mount Airy Virginia praises Tanlac after severe indigestion and heart pains. She notes her daughter nine suffered from indigestion and relief came after her daughter used Tanlac, leading to four bottles and ten pound gain. Tanlac sold by all druggists in Mount Airy.
