I Wilson Reece of Route 4 died Monday night at age 85 after a lengthy illness. He was a farmer married in 1881 to Mary Elizabeth Hampton and lived near the city after marriage. He is survived by a daughter, two sons, a niece who lived with the family, two brothers, a sister, and grandchildren. Funeral from Antioch Baptist Church Wednesday at 3 PM with interment in the church cemetery. Ministers officiated.

Prank Poy recalled from the Hawaiian Islands where he served last summer as a government instructor. He will join the Ordnance School at Aberdeen Proving Grounds Maryland. He and Mrs Poy and child will sail from Hawaii March 4 and drive across the country to San Francisco for a brief visit. Mrs Foy and child will stay with her parents in until arrangements for Aberdeen living quarters are made.

Mount Airy cattle sale saw steady demand with calves selling up to 1290 per hundred and best cutters reaching 7.15 per hundred. Parkway Storehouse Robbed Near Pancy Gap for Over $100
The Blue Ridge Parkway storehouse near Pancy Gap was robbed of materials valued over $100 on February 18.
