C B Keesee Dies After Brief Illness in Martinsville
C B Keesee died in a Martinsville hospital after a brief illness. Born in Caswell County in 1882, he was 79. He worked in Danville and Martinsville, with interests in banking furniture and Mount Airy quarry. He served in civic affairs and was an officer of First Baptist Church Martinsville. Surviving are his wife and a nephew in Mount Airy. Funeral services were held at his home Monday.

Four-Year-Old Hit by Truck in Highland Park
A 4-year-old boy, son of Kenny Jessup of Highland Park, was injured Thursday when he ran into the side of a moving pickup driven by Harvey Wall of Eldora township. Deputy Jones said the boy suffered a broken collar bone. No charges were filed. The accident occurred on the White Plains Mount Airy highway at Buck Shoals road near Stewart's store.
