Driver Carl Thomas Clore of Jonesville charged with operating a car intoxicated and related offenses. passenger Mrs. Carl Thomas Clore treated for a cut. other passenger Thomas Peyton McKenzie charged with public drunkenness and possession. A hearing is set before Justice Earl Ramey on February 23.

Man Faints and Falls Through Plate Glass on Main Street
Patrolman Billy White on foot patrol near the Chew House on North Main Street observed a man acting unsteady at 10:30 p m Sunday. The man, Arthur Robert Harrell of Winston-Salem, fainted and fell through the plate glass front of the Consumer Credit Company office. Harrell was taken to Northern Surry Hospital for treatment of cuts from the fall.

Deputies Conduct 15 Raids in Week Over Prohibition
Deputies of the sheriff's department pursued more than 15 raids and searches in the past week to curb prohibition violations. Burleigh Johnson of Sandy Level was arrested after officers found a secret liquor cache behind a wall panel. Ten others were arrested in four days. James Jennings faced VPL for sale after spotting 11 half-gallon cans of liquor. Walter McCraw was charged after authorities found a half gallon of white lightning at his Pipers Gap home.
