Federal Income Tax Agents to Visit Mount Airy and Pilot Mountain

Young Boys Rob Two Local Stores In Weekend Theft
Ruben Payne and Jesse Sechrist both 15 are jailed for part in robberies at Efird’s Department Store and Belton’s grocery on South Main. Two younger boys aged 12, Lester Edwards and Porter Wilthra tt, are in parental custody for aiding thefts. They climbed the old theatre building roof to enter Efird’s through a second story window and removed shirts ties and shoes worth 52 dollars. They also used a ladder from Davis plumbing to enter Belton’s and took cigarettes and groceries. Items were recovered from the Lovill Warehouse basement and Wilhiatt residence.
