C B Roberson was installed as president of the Mount Airy Chamber of Commerce at a Reeves YMCA ceremony amid a snowstorm. A Stuart Va. native and Navy veteran, he pledged an active chamber program for 1966 and noted his prior service as chamber director. He works with H L and S A Hennis Jr Inc and Town Tire Service, attends Rockford Street Methodist Church, and belongs to the Masons and Mount Airy Rotary Club. He is married to Jamie Hatcher with daughter Karen Jane.

Building Soaked As Pipes Freeze
A third floor sprinkler system flooded the Professions Building at Franklin and Willow early Tuesday night. Water backed up several inches on all floors, damaging sheetrock and fixtures as frozen pipes thawed. First floor offices may reopen Friday after repairs, with limited access.
