Doctors His Dog and Dog Goes Mad
A city man, H. M. Smith, treated his sick bird dog with medicine. The dog worsened, and after contact with the man’s cut thumb the dog was deemed mad. The animal’s head was sent to Raleigh for rabies testing, and Mr. Smith began daily rabies treatments.

Roger Foard Paddison longtime Albany citizen dies at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Altio Georgia from heart trouble. He was born September 26 1870 in Point Caswell and was the eldest son of J R and Mrs Paddison. He later worked as a traveling salesman in Memphis and St Louis before passing away on Christmas Day.

George L. Carter 80, Carroll County native and famed coal operator, died after a brief pneumonia illness in Washington DC. Will Dockery of Mississippi Dies in Baltimore
Will Dockery of Dockery Mississippi brother of Mrs Cullen Merritt died in Johns Hopkins Hospital Baltimore after about a month of illness with pneumonia at age 71. He had suffered a stroke in December and was sent to Baltimore for treatment. His body was taken to Memphis Tennessee for burial beside his wife. Dockery was a major cotton grower with plantations in the Mississippi delta and supported charitable causes as a longtime Baptist.
