Promoted Navy Officer Wade Reece McKinney Leads Fleet in Philippines
Lieutenant Wade Reece McKinney of Mount Airy has been promoted to executive officer and second in command on a naval vessel in the Philippines after nearly 38 months as a naval officer. He previously served as gunnery officer on a Liberty ship in the Atlantic during the U boat menace and crossed the Atlantic ten times. McKinney trained in Fire Fighting and Damage Control School in Philadelphia and Miami before heading to the Pacific.
