Dennis Gibson, 29, of Westfield, died in a fog bound crash near Pilot Mountain when his car rolled after leaving a basketball game. Neighbors found him trapped under the vehicle two miles from home. sheriff ruled no inquest. Funeral was held at Westfield Friends Church. he leaves parents, three sisters, and two brothers.

Negro Accused Of Assault Returned Here For Hearing
Tom Madden a 24 year old negro accused of entering the Woods home on Haymore Street November 1 and beating the occupants was brought from Winston Salem to Mount Airy for a preliminary hearing. He will be tried in the local recorder's court Monday.

Dr. Jack Fleenor Dies After Camp Accident Injuries
Dr. Jack Fleenor medical advisor for local CCC camps died in Anson Sanitorium Wadesboro after injuries from a fog bound collision Tuesday night. Mount Airy to Welcome Excelsior Plant Led by John Allen
Mount Airy prepares for a new industry as John Allen a famed big league pitcher leads a group to establish an Excelsior plant leasing the Sydnor and Holcomb building on the Dobson road for three years with option to buy. Machinery will arrive immediately and a sprinkler system will be installed. The plant will use old field pine and second growth timber to produce excelsior for furniture packing creating local employment and potential future residence for Allen after his athletic career ends. Credits include F G Toler of Charlotte and W W Kent of Lenoir. Allen will join the Cleveland team in spring and is a Greensboro native discovered as a hotel clerk by a baseball scout.
