United Fund names officers and board for coming year
At Reeves YMCA the nominating committee of the Greater Mount Airy United Fund announced its officers for the coming year. Frank L. Smith will be president, C. W. Cockrell first vice president, Joe Graves second vice president, Lester Vaughn treasurer, Mrs. E. G. Wynne secretary, and W. S. Wolfe chaired the committee. D. T. Construction Begins on Dobson Treatment Plant
After six years of planning and pleading the town of Dobson starts work on a new sewage treatment plant. W C Wooten of Gilbert Engineering moves crew and machinery onto the site as heavy city pipe is unloaded. The project, bid winner Statesville firm, has a 360 day contract from April 6 though weather delays have pushed start.

Sheltontown Girl Saves Child From Pool Tragedy
