Democrats Plan Saturday Township Meetings in Sunny County
Democrats will convene in Sunny County at 2 p m Saturday for each voting precinct to elect an executive committee. the chosen chairmen join the county executive. In Mont Airy five precincts meet at City Hall to organize, each precinct allocating one member to the county committee. The county convention is set for April 29 at 2 p m in the Dobson courthouse.

Stolen Gas Coupon Roll Partially Recovered
The roll of 05,400 gasoline coupons stolen from local ration offices last week by Pvt. Virgil Key has been largely recovered with about 650 missing. Key took the roll in a clerk’s presence and fled. it was later found at his home near White Plains. He is on furlough from Camp White, Oregon, and a federal warrant for his arrest is reported.

Jesse Santford Wagoner 76 a well known farmer and miller died Tuesday morning at his home near town after a period of illness. He was born in Yadkin County to Henry and Chertty Wagoner and lived here about forty years. Survived by widow Jennie Wilson Wagoner four sons Beaufort Marvin Elmer and Harvey with the armed forces two daughters Ruby and Mrs. Franklin Martin two brothers Ray and Rufus a sister Mrs. Ed Harris and seven grandchildren. Funeral from Haymore Memorial Baptist Church Thursday at 3 p m with Revs. Otey Carter and Lanier officiating. Burial
