Funeral held for Coleman Morrison Whitlock 68
The funeral for Coleman Morrison Whitlock 68 of 120 W Potter Mt Airy was conducted at Trinity Episcopal Church by Rev William E Pilcher. He died Monday in Morganton after several weeks illness. He was a retired engineer and senior warden of Trinity. Burial was in Oakdale Cemetery. Surviving are his wife two sons a daughter and eight grandchildren.

Jaycees of Mount Airy confirm that Mixes Maria Beale Fletcher of Asheville will attend the 1964 Miss Mount Airy pageant events. Fletcher, sponsored by the North Carolina Jaycees in 1961, won the national crown and $11 500 in college scholarships. She arrives June 18 to rehearse with contestants and will ride in the parade during pageant weekend. Local Jaycees invite new contestants to sign up with John Mills or Bill Coble.
