The partial solar eclipse, about 82 percent, will be visible Sunday afternoon in Mount Airy with the center of the path over Northwest Florida. Scientists expect to photograph the eclipse to study sun spots during the eight minutes of shadow, using fast shutter speeds and brief lens stops.

Mrs. John D. Thompson, long treated at Martin Memorial Hospital, was carried home by ambulance early this week. She will be cared for by two nurses Miss Beamer of Dobson on day duty and Mrs. Paul Hull on night duty. Mr. Thompson furnished a hospital bed and modern comforts for her recovery.
