Death Claims Beloved Citizen Mary Virginia Banner Taylor
Mrs. Mary Virginia Banner Taylor widow of Dr. W. B. Taylor died at home in Mount Airy Sunday afternoon. Born in Mount Airy 71 years ago she led a long life here with her husband a notable local physician. Survived by five children three brothers and one sister with many relatives and friends, funeral at Central Methodist Church and burial in Oakdale cemetery. Out of town relatives attended from Greensboro and Wytheville.

Mrs. Lummie Gaudy, 65, was bitten by a mad dog. She began rabies treatment under Dr Gorham and showed spasms but is now believed to be reacting to the treatment rather than hydrophobia and is out of danger.

Sheriff Haynes Settles Tax Duties With County

Westfield Farmer Dies After Car Wreck Hospitalized
Dan Mills a 23 year old Westfield farmer died in Martin hospital after an auto wreck on the Siloam highway near Union church. His car overturned and pinned him beneath as Sam Shінаult was thrown free. Mills survived briefly before passing from crushed hip and internal injuries. He had married about a month ago and lived on a farm near Hollow Springs with his father John Mills.

The outfit included beer vats and about 12 bushels of rye grain soaking in kegs mixed with sugar. Legislative action had named a full board, but two Democrats and one Republican declined to qualify. J. J. Richards temporarily filled a quorum role as three new members will be elected at a special April meeting. Prof. E. S. Hendren was re elected County Superintendent.
