W H Blizzard manager says transfer of all equipment is underway this week to gain space and a better location. Production is to begin Monday at the Franklin Road plant.

Assembly Holds Money Key To State Zoo In 3 Years
The North Carolina General Assembly could fund a new state zoo by 1974 with a $2 million appropriation. Dr. Jack Snow of Mount Airy, Zoo Authority member, noted the authority has 1,000 acres on Purgatory Mountain near Asheboro and that local and private donations are in progress to develop and operate the facility. The project aims to generate about $64 million in state income by 1981 through tourism, with local efforts already pledging substantial support and PGA proceeds expected to total around $50,000 yearly.

Quarry Workers On Strike At N C Granite Quarry
About 300 workers walked out as the local Granite Cutters union seeks a new one year contract. The strike follows the expiry of the previous pact at midnight Wednesday. Negotiations resume Monday with Grover Dobson as union representative and John P. Frank leading the company. The dispute centers on wage increases and expanded hospitalization and holiday benefits.

Funeral services for Leonard Thomas Reeves, 382, route 1, Mount Airy, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Holly Springs Baptist Church. He died yesterday at Northern Surry Hospital. Born in Surry County to Charlie and Eunice Haymore Reeves, he was a Holy Springs member and a Greyhound Bus Co. driver for 26 years. Surviving: wife Beulah Deatherage Reeves. two sons Tommy Reeves and Douglas Reeves. mother, sister, two brothers. Burial will be in Skyline.
