City churches organize a two week revival starting April 7 at Rockford Street Auditorium with Dr. Ralph Herring of First Baptist Winston-Salem preaching nightly at 7:30 and Bible study each morning at Central Methodist. M S Nichols 56 longtime Mantel and Table Company shipping department supervisor died at University of Virginia Medical College Hospital in Richmond after three weeks in hospital. Pilot Mountain Man Dies After Highway Accident
Charles Glenn Burge of Pilot Mountain, a noted machine operator, died in a local hospital from injuries after a Winston-Salem highway collision Monday night. Amys Hodges of near Mount Airy was turning left and was struck by Burge’s car four miles south of Mount Airy near John Jarrell's store. Hodges may face manslaughter charges per the highway patrol investigation.
