The weekly spotlight honors Mrs Myrtle Gravett who has 29 years in rural Da vis and Appanoose counties. She spent 11 years at Capitol school near Udell and nine at Udell. Educated at Troy high Cedar Falls Centerville Junior College Drake and Northeast Missouri State. Married to Glenn they farm four and a half miles east of Moulton. Hobbies include cooking gardening and house plants. Her greatest joy is teaching fourth grade and guiding each pupil to grow at his own pace. Best wishes for continued success.

Mrs Wright Receives Music Education Degrees
High School band chorus and Udell Elementary band director Mrs Wright earns a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Missouri State Teachers College Kirksville. Born in Milan Missouri she grew up in Centerville attended Centerville High and taught seven years in Centerville and Seymour plus four at Moulton. She is married to Harold an engineer for the Iowa State Telephone Company and they have five children. They reside at 307 East Terry Centerville. She aims to complete a Master’s degree and to improve the music department yearly while enjoying piano trumpet swimming boating and family activities. Her MU opinion is None better the students are the greatest.

Music Department's Wright Leads Large School Groups
Mrs Wright oversees 70 Girls Glee Club members across grades eight through seniors and 85 Mixed Chorus participants divided among seniors juniors sophomores and freshmen. A Top Notes group of 12 musicians performs at Dizzy Discotheque and assembly events with a December Christmas concert planned. The 104 member band includes twirlers pom poms and flag twirlers, has won first place in Lancaster and second at Moravia Fall Festival, and will form a ten member Swing Band for basketball games. First chair spots for conference band honor noted
Mrs Wright names lan and others as first chair in their sections for the conference band where 204 students perform. Bruce Burgher is referred for the State Honor band auditions in January at Drake University from 75 Iowa schools. Wright leads a 48 piece Udell band for 5th and 6th graders performing at the Christmas program.
