Marie Bogart and children moved back to their farm after four to five months in Bloomfield. Sue Hubbard spent Monday night with Gay Foster. Ross Henderson and Loyd Foster hosted Monday visitors. John Jones and Mrs Donald Jones shopped Ottumwa Thursday. W L Smallwood Ottumwa and Cleta Rudd visited Elmer Losey Monday. Doran Gravitt and family left Thursday for South Dakota. Doran stationed in the Air Corps. Lester Small and Lee Small visited Bloomfield Friday. Helen Foster Gary and Gay visited Ross Henderson Sunday.
The New Hope 4-H Club gathered at Sara Stevenson home for a regular meeting. Members pledged allegiance then decided to wear 4-H uniforms to school during National 4-H Week. Sara Stevenson and Lois Harris demonstrated making ice box cookies. Annette Tharp and Connie Johnson prepared drop cookies. Refreshments were served by Sara and her mother.
Connie Johnson hosted the New Hope 4-H Club meeting with Sara Stevenson presiding. Members answered a roll call on nutritious meal snack ideas. Workshops featured Laura Tharp and Sandra Stevenson on the Conventional Cake Method and Connie Johnson with Annette Tharp on the One Bowl Cake Method.
