Ranger feeds winter guests in Glacier Park story
Forest Ranger Lewis Hanson in Glacier National Park fed flapjacks to a tame mink a curious weasel a skunk and two gray squirrels during the long winter. The animals ate from his hand but the skunk kept to cafeteria style waiting. Rangers say this is the first time a mink or a weasel has become that tame in the Rockies. The chief ranger allowed extra flour rations after the sightings. Hanson notes the animals stayed near his cabin for companionship, though he admits the skunk was hard to handle.
