P N G Circle Met in Beard Home

The Past Noble Grand Circle met Monday evening June 16 at Grace Beard's home. President Myrtle Starr presided while Anita Winans led opening prayer. Officers elected: Oakel Cooper president Vi Hayes vice president Cleo Catherall secretary Fairy Wright treasurer. May 19 meeting had Geraldine Freeborn instead of Vivian Kirby.

Regular Meeting Of Friendship Circle

The Friendship Circle held its regular all day meeting at Grace Marvin home on June 11. A noon co op dinner was served with Chloe Sebolt giving thanks. Grace Marvin led the afternoon session. Lola read Psalm 26 and the roll call asked the favorite Bible verse. Due to many absentees the white elephant sale was postponed to the next meeting at Anna Marvin home on June 25. Daisy Owens assisted as hostess. Attendees included Daisy Owens Grace Guinn Lola Patterson Grace Marvin Rosella Holland Marcia McKenzie Norene Yates Becky Holland Chloe Sebolt. Clarence Marvin and Mike Yates were dinner guests.

Happy Helpers Have Buffet Supper

The Happy Helpers 4-H Club held a buffet supper at Agnes Burkland's home on June 5, 1969. Members and guests contributed dishes from green beans to sirloin roast and desserts, with many helping in kitchen tasks. The gathering concluded without incidents and noted a pleasant day. Several local families, including the Davises and Kirkpatrick families, spent Father’s Day nearby.

Local residents host visitors from near and far

Locals recount visits from Dr L L Huntley of Washington and family en route to Huntington Indiana for their daughter Mary Louise. Guests at Inez Rohl’s included Chas Hallgren and families from Ottumwa Exline. Families from Denver and Aurora join gatherings. trips span western states. Robin Pike spends summer with Swarts grandparents. Linda and Susan Wood of Sanose California visit Hugh Wood’s family. grandparents meet them in Des Moines.

Visitors and departures mark modest town gathering

Mr and Mrs Floyd Cowell and Kathy of St Louis Mrs Harley Ward Ted Allan and Pamela of McCausland Iowa visited last week at Margaret Cowell home. Jerry Brinegar plans to depart Sunday for Goose Bay Labrador U S Air Force Base after a month’s leave with his parents Mr and Mrs Earl Brinegar. His wife who has been with him will return to Tucson where she will live until Jerry finishes his enlistment. Mr and Mrs Willis John of Cedar Rapids visited friends in Moulton last Saturday.
