500 Join In Fishing Blitz At Wapello
In Southern Iowa, high water and muddy lakes spoiled the bass blitz at Lake Wapello on opening day. Reported catches were meager with fewer than 25 bass seen by custodian Jim Babcock by 3:00 p.m. Bulls and crappies offered some relief, but bass were not cooperative. The Moulton reservoir also yielded little bass as dawn patrols of over 500 anglers left with a similar tale.
