Seymour Has Coal Vein Near Jamison Estate
A drill at prospect hole No 2 near Seymour on Jamison estate found a 3 ft 2 in thick vein of high grade coal at 523 ft depth. Spectators were disappointed by thickness, but drillers expect the vein to rise with depth and note irregular rock just above the coal. The drillers believe the coal at hole 2 lies too low compared with hole 1, based on rock strata and formation observed.
