Student Council met on Thursday to address the flying missiles issue in study halls with no solution found. The December 20 program will feature the band and Mrs Fry's class presenting All is Calm followed by a gift exchange. CARE drive totals $13.41.
Across the editor's desk notes time slips by as 1957 nears its end. A driver training mishap ends safely with no damage. Santa jokes, resolutions for the Eagle Scream, and a wish for a white Christmas close the year.
The Moulton boys basketball team extended their winning streak with a 70 50 win over Troy and a 58 42 victory over Moravia. Cook led with 29 points against Troy and 26 versus Moravia, Barber adding 13 and 14 respectively. After nine games they average 60 points per game while allowing 43. They have totaled 538 points for and 389 against. They travel to Bloomfield Friday for two games and host Troy on Monday December 23.
A whimsical compilation lists numerous people and their chosen carols such as Barbara J White selecting Christmas and Nancy R choosing White Christmas. A stray joke about a desert porcupine wandering into a cactus bush adds a final humorous note.
Sheryl Kay Horn, born March 12, 1941, daughter of Mr and Mrs Kermit Horn, is highlighted for three years at the local school. She enjoys sewing, roller skating, and radio, aims to be a stenographer, and participated in Girls Chorus for 1.5 years.

In the shorthand class we have just started dictation. Students learn to omit small words and to form compounds by joining outlines. Abbreviations with numerals and after words like few and several save time.

The class enjoyed December picture making and freehand art, studied healthy foods in health and science, created menus of essential foods, and discussed language rules while writing Christmas stories. Perfect spelling scores included Barry Andrews and others. top language scores featured Jeanie Daniels and Verl Hutchison. The class anticipates a Friday party and wishes a Happy New Year.
The class adds Christmas decorations and a tree with gifts for mother and father. Students Nancy Boettcher Cindy Kirby Barry Morrow Danny Swarts and Becky Yates earned spelling prizes. In science they study weather with a two week daily weather chart. Barry Morrow’s birthday party was on November 22 with candy bars and gum. The note wishes readers a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
This week’s mystery girl from M. H. S. is a sophomore with blonde hair green eyes 4 ft 10 in 97 pounds fair complexion commonly seen with Bobbie. Motto Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. She enjoys basketball and dancing and aims to finish school and marry. Last week’s mystery girl was Janet Glassgow.
Safety guidance outlines ten fire prevention measures for Christmas trees. Use small trees, set up shortly before use, place in cool area away from heat, water the stand, avoid flame sources, use flameproof decorations, switch off lights when away, inspect wiring, replace damaged needles, and discard tree outdoors when needles brown.
The class gears up for vacation with a Friday room party and gift exchange. They display Christmas scenes, celebrate perfect scores on gifts, and decorate a tree. Arithmetic studies focus on fives while Social Studies covers the Pilgrim landing.
