High School Puts On HMS Pinafore In Gym
The high school staged an evening performance of HMS Pinafore in the gym on Frides day at 6 05 p.m. before a fair sized crowd. Julian Kriegermeier led as Captain Corcoran with Verina Davis as Aaron Rackstraw and Margaret Davis as Sir Joseph Porter among the cast.

Groom Said No Play Opens Friday Night at School
School notes announce the Friday night presentation of The Groom Said No a two three act operetta by the Juniors directed by Mr. Lloyd. Tickets cost .25 for admission 50 cents. Seniors visit Kirksville College enjoyed Naughty Marietta with a luncheon campus tours and a bus ride home. On Friday April 17 the County High School Spelling Contest was held in Centerville High School library with 24 contestants from six schools. Wendell May, a Cincinnati junior, was the overall winner. Lois Goettsche and Martha Hetzler earned second place in the Sophomore and Senior divisions respectively. Miss Wood helped judge. A banquet at the Continental Hotel followed, then a free movie at the Majestic or Ritz for all contestants and guests.
