Speech contestants enter state contest at Grinnell
Seven district qualifiers traveled to the state contest at Grinnell on Saturday March 20 to compete with about 1500 contestants from 93 schools. Six of the Moulton Udell group earned II ratings: Debby Wood and Richard Burger prose, Janice Morris and Sharon Moulton poetry, Judith Irelan and Gary Howard in oratorical declamation. Gary Ogden in interpretive poetry earned a UI rating. Mrs Fry, the Moulton Udell instructor, praised the contestants and urged continued participation in speech work next year.

A $1 donation to the Sharon Newell Memorial was voted. Next meeting set for Linda Johnson's on April 8 at 7 30.
