FHA Holds First Meeting of 1956 57 Term
The FHA convened its 1956 57 term with brief talks by Mr Rainer and Mrs Atkinson for the girls. The Scout advancement plan begun in 1910 has affected more than 20 million boys. It aims to teach knowledge and its application, teamwork, and leadership through Tenderfoot to First Class tests and a broad Merit Badge curriculum from agriculture to zoology. The budget drive covers most Central Texas communities, led by Dr. George Beto with counties including Travis, Burnet, Llano, Mason, Gillespie, Blanco, Hays, Caldwell, De Witt, Lavaca, Lee, Bastrop, Williamson, Fayette and Gonzales.

Lavaca County Home Demonstration Council met September 22 at the county courthouse with 11 clubs represented, 21 members and 6 visitors. Home Demonstration Club Meets in Moulton
The Moulton Home Demonstration Club met on September 20 at Mrs. Roy Kotzebue’s home with fifteen members. They planned a sugar refinery and prison farm tour and will meet September 27 at Mrs. Sitz’s to make cancer dressing pads. Officers elected for 1957 include B J Fitz president and Marvin Haase vice president.
