The Moulton Fire Department benefit bazaar date was moved from Monday Oct 9 to Sunday Oct 8 at the American Legion Hall. Committees report progress and urge donations of sal ads and baked goods to support the fundraiser.
The text lists the ladies committee chairmen Mrs. Fred F Fehrenkamp Miss Marguerite Boehm Mrs Ad Ermis Mrs Frank Bie hunke Jr Mrs E D Meyer and the men chairmen J B Wilson R Preston Rev A H Falkenberg E D Meyer Oscar Shandera. Donations are sought through the chairmen.
Vlad Boehm serves as chairman with J. T. Jaeggli and O. F. Knape as members of the Advertising Committee.

The Catholic congregation of Moulton will hold its annual church feast at Hermann Park on Sunday September 24. A big dinner will be served and a bazaar will be held in the afternoon. The celebration will conclude with a dance.
The Moulton Canning Demonstration Club will meet at Luther Hall at 7 30 P M on Wednesday September 27 Members and friends are invited to attend.
Rudie Mueller purchases one half interest in the retail malt liquor business of Charles Lueke, expanding stake in the local trade.
Fred F. Fehrenkamp is distributor of the famous Texas Export Beverage manufactured by the Home Brewery of Shiner.
Mrs. Joe K. Etlinger, pantry demonstrator of the Moulton Demonstration Club, told listeners at Achievement Day on September 13 that her pantry, built from 4 H blueprints, cost 9.08 and holds 840 can shelves. She canned 200 containers last year and 470 this year for her family of five and plans more with a pressure cooker and sealer next year. Her pantry is in the dining room for ventilation and space and she invites visitors to view it. The club also displays a Canning Exhibit in the Central Power and Light Company show window in Moulton.
George A. Darilek died in Shreveport Louisiana at 9 40 P M Wednesday September 13 after a two week illness malaria developing into typhoid fever. The twenty year old was buried in the Catholic Cemetery after services at St Josephs Church. Survivors include his mother Mrs R Levik of Mounds Louisiana a sister Mrs Peter Roemer of Floresville and a brother Victor both of Floresville.
Moulton branch of the American Red Cross raised 60.75 for relief in the Lower Rio Grande Valley. A check for the amount was sent to the treasurer at Hallettsville, with deposits later to headquarters. A bed sheet joined the donations. Boursville school contributed 10.25. The soliciting committee included Mrs. Wagner and several named ladies and girls.
The Boursville school opened Monday with a large attendance. Komensky welcomed 140 pupils. Oak Grove opened as students enjoyed ice cream. Culak Evergreen Dickson and Witting also began the term Monday.
The Moulton Juvenile Orchestra has begun regular rehearsals and hopes to perform a real concert soon. Recently formed, it stands as a leading junior music group in the region and plans to win new honors in the year ahead.
Idaho and New Mexico joined Tuesday in the wet parade voting for repeal of the Eighteenth Amendment. Thirty one states have registered opposition to prohibition and only five more states are needed to remove the amendment from the federal constitution.
Public Weigher Chas. Welff reports that 5,250 bales of new cotton had been marked in Moulton up to 4:00 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, September 20.
Mr. W. Darilek and family of Schulenburg visited the home folks here on Sunday in a brief family gathering and safe return.
Mrs Bludworth of Cuero visits her sister Mrs R A Ellinger since last week. Miss Dorothy Hoppe returns to Smithville after a weekend visit with relatives here.
Mr and Mrs R Levik of Mounds Louisiana are spending the week with her relatives here.
Mr. H. W. Bates and Mrs. F. A. Bates of Bay City are visiting in the R. B. Papacek home this week.
Dr John G Guenther and his daughter Miss Marian of La Grange spent a day in Moulton last week. Miss Marian has just returned from a trip to New York.
Announcement from Chicago states the exposition will end October 31 as scheduled. Managers report many requests to extend the fair but will keep the original date. Millions have visited since June and millions more are expected in six weeks, with Texas contributing many guests and about 500 Texans registering daily at the Texas building. The Texas exhibit is described as one of the best on the grounds.
James Jaeggli, son of Mr and Mrs J T Jaeggli of Moulton, was appointed page in the state senate by Senator Gus Russekl. He left for Austin Monday to begin duties. Congratulations.
A reader trivia note states about 1.2 million automobiles are junked annually and cites North Dakota as home to the longest straight highway segment, about 50 miles with no curves.
Miss Annie Laurie Jaeggli travels to Austin to begin her second year at the University of Texas. She will continue her studies and resume campus activities this fall.
Mr. and Mrs. George Baur of Moulton and Mrs. Elmer Eberhardt and baby of Seguin left Monday for a visit in Houston and Galveston.
Mr and Mrs O H Ehlert and daughters of Jackson Michigan and Mrs O C Ehlert of Burton spent Friday in the home of Rev and Mrs A H Falkenberg, indicating a brief social gathering with the Falkenburgs in their residence.
Mr. Sam Wunderlich and family of Houston spent part of last week with Mr. and Mrs. George Baur, while Mr. George F. Baur and family of Galveston also visited.
Rev. and Mrs. J. C. Felger of Victoria were in Moulton Saturday evening and Sunday, guests of Rev. and Mrs. A. H. Falkenberg and Mr. and Mrs. F. T. Fehrenkamp.
Miss Emily Darilek travels to Hallettsville to resume teaching at Brown School which opened for the term Monday morning. She has taught at Brown School for several years.
Mrs. Rud Jaeggi was honored at a Sunday School party on Sept 14 with a long table setting, cake, and gifts. The Moulton firemen plan a bazaar on Oct 8 at Hermann Park to raise funds for improved fire protection including a chemical truck. Local donations support the department and the wider community benefits from better equipment and faster response to fires.
Children and young people featured in a mission festival at Zion’s Lutheran Church. Rev J C Felger of Victoria delivered a sermon addressed to youths. Felger, chaplain of the State Volunteer Firemen's Association, spoke as many fire department members attended. Offerings totaled 55 dollars. The Moulton Juvenile Orchestra performed several selections.
The Moulton Lutheran Ladies Aid Society held its regular meeting on September 7. The next meeting is planned for October 5. Committees for the month include Sick Mrs. Frank Biehunke and Mrs. Charles Klobedans. Membership Mrs Emil Janszen and Mrs. Albert Klobedans. Flower Mrs Ed Boehm Jr and Mrs W K Richter. Serving Mrs W K Richter Mrs Leander Mueller and Mrs Stanis Rothbauer.
Mr and Mrs Frank Kramer Bauer and Mr and Mrs Charles Bran Jr with their son Edward traveled to San Marcos on Sunday for Edward to attend Southwest Texas State Teachers College. Edward is a graduate of Moulton High School.

Mr John Reindl and his daughter Miss Lillie and Miss Hertha Dietschke spent last week in Canada visiting Tuesday and Wednesday. They report excellent crops in that section.
