Rates Debate as Utilities Seek Higher Texas Revenues
Rogers cites inflation and demand driving a proposed rate structure to achieve a 9.5 percent return on Texas investments. Local monthly rates would rise to 7.25 to 11.50 for residential service and 16.95 to 35.80 for business first-tier service. Coin tolls rise to 20 cents, with directory assistance adding a 20-cent call charge after three local calls.
