Mr and Mrs Fred T Jaluska of Flatonia are the parents of a baby girl born at Dr H J Strieder Hospital in Moulton on Monday September 6 at 9 55 AM. The child is named Della Marie and there are now two girls in the family. The mother is the former Miss Della Soto.
Mr and Mrs Chas Miculka of Smithville observed their fiftieth wedding anniversary with a large family reunion at Buescher State Park Smithville after a popularity of a barbecue dinner. The couple wed September 5 1948 in Moulton and were joined by many relatives from Moulton Rosanky Shiner Austin Wharton and Houston in a large gathering hosted by relatives and friends.
Mr and Mrs Fred Welfl of near Moulton celebrate the birth of a son at Shiner Hospital on Tuesday August 31. The baby weighed eight pounds at birth. The mother is the former Miss Pauline Roznovsky.
Wenzel Breitschopf 83 died Saturday at Schulenburg hospital. Attendees at his funeral in Cistern Monday September 6 included Mr. and Mrs. Jordan Raab Mr. and Mrs. John F. Fishback Mrs. Richard Boehm Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Petrek Mrs. Lee Jarosek Mr. R. Htlinger and Miss Mollie Ziegelbauer.
Mrs Ed Boehm Jr was discharged from Renger hospital in Hallettsville last week Wednesday after surgery. She is reported to be getting along fine.
Mrs. Charles Lueke visited Flatonia Tuesday afternoon, meeting local residents and sharing greetings amid the town’s social scene.
The Catholic School Chich held its first meeting of the school year on September 1. Officers chosen: Mrs. Johnnie Bravenec president, Mrs. Frank Kouba vice president, Mrs. August Etlinger secretary, Mrs. Otto Keil treasurer, Mrs. R. H. Etlinger reporter. A grocery shower for the sisters followed.
Barbecue dinner and softball games were enjoyed by Johnnie's Store team and about fifty friends Sunday at the F. J. Barta pasture in Komensky. The event featured a choice dinner and lively play.
Mr and Mrs Rubin Anderle of Moulton are proud parents of a daughter born at Shiner Hospital on Sunday August 28. The newborn weighed nine pounds four ounces.
The Bravenec family held their second reunion on Sunday at Sulphur Park Swimming Pool. A mutton barbecue and supper with trimmings and cold drinks was served. Attendees included C A Shiller and son from Bloomington, Alvin Hajek and family from San Antonio, Edwin Bravenec and son from Nelsonville, Franklin Bravenec and children from Houston, Henry Keil and children from San Antonio, Frank Susan from Nelsonville, and Johnnie Bravenec and children from Moulton.
New York Aug 23 Mr C T Johnson Insurance Agent of Austin Texas has been notified of honorable mention in Americas Who's Who for 1947. He qualified for the Leaders Round Table of Texas in life underwriting and built and sold over 150 homes in 18 months aiding Austin housing. He is active in civic clubs and First Baptist Church, and is a former Moulton resident.
Miss Jeannette Jalufka enrolls in Baldwin Business College Yoakum this week. A Moulton High School graduate and daughter of Mr and Mrs Emil Jalufka, she begins training in the program.
The Moulton Lions Club president assigns committees for the current year with members covering Attendance Constitution and By-Laws Finance Lions Education Membership Program and Entertainment Publicity Citizenship and Patriotism Civic Improvement Community Betterment Education Health and Welfare Safety. Also a Carnival and Community Fair Committee is named with seven members.
Two games played Tuesday night ended with V. F. W. defeating Moulton All Stars 8 to 4 and Praha beating Cattlemen 18 to 11.
The Softball Tournament will be played on Thursday and Saturday nights this week and Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday nights next week at the Lions Club field in Moulton. Trophies will be awarded to the top two teams and the Consolation winners.
Evergreen School will begin the 1948-49 session on Monday September 13. Principal is Mr John Krhovjak and assistant teacher is Miss Virginia Lea Krhovjak.
Mrs. Frank Krejci marked her 79th birthday with a family gathering at her Moulton home. Present were numerous Krejci relatives and spouses from Corpus Christi Luling Shiner Cuero Tesco and nearby towns.
Mr. Ed Maresh and his family are spending a week in Corpus Christi, enjoying local sights and seaside recreation.
Mr and Mrs A H Tyler and Mr and Mrs Paul Tyler are vacationing in Carlsbad Cavern and other places of interest.
Mrs August Heyer and Mrs Richard Boenm hosted a surprise party for Mr and Mrs A H Tyler to mark their 25th wedding anniversary on Saturday September 4. Mrs Ed Bie hunke played a wedding march as the couple entered. Mrs Paul Tyler pinned a red camelia corsage with silver ribbon. The couple received many gifts, refreshments were served, and guests departed wishing them many more years of happiness.
Mr and Mrs Edward Beran with children and Miss Helen Beran of San Antonio join Mr and Mrs Victor Beran of Houston for a weekend at the home of Mr and Mrs Charles Beran to honor Mr Beran on his 60th birthday. Mrs Frank Heiman of Danbury Texas visits relatives locally.
Mr and Mrs Larry Casey spent the week end in the home of his partners Mr and Mrs O W Casey.
