Husband Slain as Wife Wounded in Hallettsville Farm Shooting

In Hallettsville Texas on a farm near Worthing at 430 am Tuesday Frank Heidaker 48 estranged husband of Annie Heidaker was shot dead by a shotgun blast that wounded her arm and pierced her abdomen. Marcus Heidaker discovered his father 50 yards from the house as a note to his children hinted at money. Annie Heidaker was taken to a hospital in Hallettsville in serious condition.

School Board Calls Bond Election

The Moulton Independent School District board of trustees has called an election for September 34 to authorize $25,000 in bonds to supplement a government grant of $20,475 for repairing the school building and erecting an auditorium.
