Lavaca County Notes Point to Local Visits and Meet

Ed Valenta of San Antonio is in the city. August Dulak was in Shiner for a predecaday. Robert Shilert left for Yoakum Wednesday. Dr J G Guenther and family spent Sunday in LaGrange. The Lavaca County Teachers Institute will meet at Hallettsville Monday. Mrs Sam Jaegels returned Wednesday from a visit to Platonia relatives. Mr and Mrs Meinhard Kotze of San Antonio were in the city Saturday and Sunday visiting relatives and friends. The Baureville Lutheran J rav en Verein will host a luncheon at the opera house Saturday afternoon.

Gonzales Duck Shipments Highlight Texas Manufacturing

The Gonzales Cotton Mills sent a load of duck to Dallas totaling 75 bales and 70 000 yards and a car to San Francisco with 90 bales and 80 000 yards. The Galveston News notes this shows Texas manufacturing earning back profits from domestic goods. A visiting couple from Seguin called on Mrs. Goetz and family in Galveston last Sunday. An elegant shower for Miss Emmie Helmcamp, soon to wed N J Niedermann, featured Guido's roof garden and prizes won by Mrs R Reynolds of New Orleans and Esther Norton with Jules Norman Biron as Cupid.

Hugo Pohler of Shiner visited the city on Tuesday. Frank P. Raab and family paid the county capital a visit on Monday. Sherman Sanders of Gonzales was here earlier in the week to greet friends.

Death of Mrs Mina Krause in Moulton

Mrs Mina Krause wife of Henry Krause dies at 1 35 PM after brief illness. She planned a Port Arthur visit to see her daughter. Funeral services were held at home and at Columbus Catholic church with interment in Odd Fellows Rest. Surviving are her husband two daughters a daughter in law and six grandchildren. The Eagle extends sympathy to the family.

The Oak Grove community reports attending Roman Wotipka’s birthday event and a Weimar funeral for Alois Rabel. Visitors include the Heger Heinrich families and relatives. Trustees and teachers decide to open the 1921 22 term on September 12 and allow eighth grade teaching through the county board.

Home and School Club Holds Regular Meeting at Weatherboy Home

The Moulton Home and School club spent several delightful hours at Mrs KE Wea terboy's home for the regular meeting. Refreshments included cake cracker sandwiches and 106 tea. Mrs Sam Jaeggli performed on the piano. Next meeting set with Mrs Sam Jaeggli on Monday September 12.

Regular Meeting of Moluton Lutheran Frauen Verein

The Moul ton Lutheran Frauen Verein held its regular meeting on Thursday with Mrs Herman Paul residing about eight miles west of town. The afternoon featured music singing and conversation with refreshments. The next gathering will be hosted by Mrs Louise Pieper on Thursday September 15.
