How Much Is It Understood Farm Issues and Migration

A speaker questions the booming inflation blamed on farmers while small farmers feel ignored. The piece argues unemployment and urban migration harm the country and wonders why policies don’t help farmers stay on the land. It calls for action from the president and policymakers.

Such Men Built a Free Country and Texas

The piece credits the Founding Fathers and Texas leaders like Washington Jefferson Franklin and Sam Houston for creating a free nation. It says early settlers volunteered not for politics but for people and cites the Alamo Goliad and San Jacinto as proof of their leadership. It laments a shift toward politics over public service in later times.

Jacobs argued export limits imitate price controls and would harm farm incomes amid rising export sales forecast to reach about 24 billion in 1973 with Texas farmers and ranchers accounting for nearly 800 million of those sales.
