The law requires every child aged seven to sixteen to attend public school for at least 120 days unless exempted by conditions such as private schooling, medical certs, disability, distance without transportation, or having completed the ninth grade. Several local residents and families were noted as visiting or traveling in nearby cities over the weekend.
