Dust camera invention records airborne dust for industry studies
Lawrence H. Ott of Cleveland inherits a Yale physics project that photographs and counts dust particles in air using a special lens. Developed with J. B. Ficklen, the device could have prevented silica dust tragedies and aids brickmaking quarrying and burnishing industries. The method would become more valuable once dust limits are legally required, by counting particles in tiny air samples.
