Farmers May Still Draw Social Security Benefits
E M Bowers Jr district manager Victoria Social Security Office explains that farm workers receive Social Security benefits to replace part of income when earnings fall due to retirement or reduced work. Farmers with no earnings after entitlement can collect regularly, and those earning over 1200 dollars may still get benefits in certain months if yearly earnings do not exceed 2080 or if farm work was seasonal. Farmers not yet age 72 by February 1 must report to the Social Security office if yearly earnings exceed 1200 dollars.
