In Hennessy Texas on September 30 Robert Harris and Louis Curtis died from wounds inflicted yesterday. Oscar Fenox is jailed in Madisonville charged with the killing. The feud over a crop settlement had long been brewing. Both victims were named.
Georgetown on September 30 reports a house fire at 6 30 AM at the home of Mr E J Johnson. Cause undetermined as no one was at home. Loss estimated at 1350 with house insured for 650 and furniture valued at 200.
Commander Robert F. Peary reports from New York that the Arctic region is among the best places on earth for pulmonary disease sufferers. He notes many visitors return heavier and healthier, while recalling Eskimos he brought earlier who faced pulmonary difficulties.
Tyler Texas September 30 five new Rogers made batt ships engines arrive for the Cotton Belt. Each engine weighs about eighty five tons excluding tank and can haul sixty loaded cars on good track. Five more engines expected within ten days raising Texas division batt ships in service to eighteen. About eighty five engines operate on the Texas division.
In St Paul on Sept 30, young women of the Clerks' union organized a girls league. Members pledge to marry only union men and shun attention from nonmembers. They will be single and willing to wed if the right man who is in a labor organization appears.
Sherman reports several smallpox cases at Cedar Mills with county physician Freeman en route to quarantine exposed individuals. The illness is not severe and no deaths have occurred yet.

Vil laume Lauvelet, once a court musician to the Mikado and a performer before European nobility, has died in El Paso Texas where he had come seeking health. He had toured the United States with Edouard Remenyi.

Austin Texas Sept 30 The South Western Oil company filed an amendment increasing capital stock from 200000 to 400000. This marks the second stock increase for the firm in recent days. An amendment was filed by the Southwestern Soda Fountain company of Dallas changing its name to the Dr Pepper company.
The Clarksville city council formally accepts Mr. Carnegie's $10,000 gift for a public library building. The city will appropriate $1,000 yearly for maintenance and provide a site. A citizen committee is formed to solicit subscriptions for the site, with success anticipated as certain.
Alice Texas Sept 29 seven train loads of cattle shipped to interstate points this week with most going to better ranges. Heavy rains last week in the county will end shipping soon as grass becomes abundant.
Clarksville report states J B Donaho, farmer near town, sold seven bales of long staple cotton in the market at 13 14 cents per pound.
Oran Hoskins sues the Missouri Pacific railroad in district court for fifty thousand dollars claiming injuries from a yard accident August 28 in Fort Worth. Hoskins has been unconscious since the incident and is not expected to recover.
