Musk Ox Study Funding Draws Fire Over Tax Money
The National Science Foundation granted about $211,136 over two years to R G White of the Institute of Arctic Biology at the University of Alaska to study musk ox physiology and nutrition. Critics, led by Rep Ronald M Motts, call the grant wasteful, noting salaries and a Russia trip. White says musk ox research is largely unexplored and cites 800 wild U S animals as the domestic population, with field work involving capture of specimens.

VA considers combined income for GI home loans
The VA now uses the veteran and spouse combined income to judge loan eligibility. Employment type and duration influence reliability for long term payments. The VA avoids hard rules and discourages lender solicitation about family growth. Obtain GI loan details from a local Veterans Service Officer or VA office.
