Twelve hundred sixty children near Chickasha Oklahoma improved health and discipline after Red Cross Grady County Chapter ran nutrition classes last year. Hot balanced lunches were served in 17 schools and children learned what to eat and how often. A health rule contest promoted outdoor exercise hygiene and proper living conditions, reducing underweight and prompting parent demand for another year.

In Sanger California the ideal weather brought a rain shower yesterday while children gathered ripe oranges. Mrs. Schnelzer celebrated a birthday last Sunday with refreshments and a cheerful gathering. Miss Leona Selzer has moved to Clovis for a dry fruit position. Mr. Anton Selzer and family relocated to a large orange farm nearby. Miss Mary Tomasko visited from Yoakum on Sunday to see homefolks.

Red Cross Helps Mothers Attend Texas State Fair
At the West Texas Fair in Abilene mothers who had not before attended the event were able to enjoy the fair thanks to the Abilene Red Cross tent. A day nursery cared for 65 babies while mothers watched races and shared in the sport. Mary Kennedy led Red Cross efforts as advisory nurse for Texas and the Abilene chapter managed the tent and first aid station.
