The Guadalupe Firemen's Association held its semi annual convention in LaGrange on Sunday November 7 with delegates from seventeen district cities. Officers were elected with Irwin W. Speckels of Schulenburg as president and Cuero chosen as next convention site. A dinner, welcome address by Mayor Robson, memorial services, and performances by the LaGrange Chamber of Commerce Band highlighted the day.

Two Killed In Automobile Crash Near Luling
Mrs A Morkovsky and son Alfonso of Hallettsville died in an auto accident on the highway near Luling Tuesday afternoon. Another son Rev John Morkovsky of Weimar was injured and taken to a Luling hospital. Mrs Morkovsky leaves a husband and nine children. Alfonso leaves a widow and a small child. The family formerly lived in Moulton where Mr Morkovsky taught at the Sam and Will Moore Institute about thirty years ago. The Eagle extends sympathy to the survivors.
