Carter budget fantasy sparks billions in world reach
The piece humorously breaks down a hypothetical $500 billion budget by Jimmy Carter, showing extreme allocations such as building $100,000 homes for seven states, buying $800 color TVs for North and South America, and funding luxury Cadillacs for several nations. It contrasts this with the NTU’s claim of a $9 trillion national debt and per-household indebtedness of $121,457.49, emphasizing the broad scope of federal spending and debt.
